What is Student Senate?

Change Agents. Difference Makers. Helping Hands. These phrases exemplify what MUSG's Senate is all about. MUSG represents the students, and the Senate is the means to act on what students desire. Ever since the founding of MUSG, the Senate has enacted meaningful change on ÃÛÌÒÓ°Ïñ's campus. Whether it be through resolutions to directly help the campus or recommendations to the administration, Senate strives every day to deliver on issues that matter to the students.

MUSG President and Executive VP

The MUSG President and Executive Vice President, elected together as a ticket, are called to serve the ÃÛÌÒÓ°Ïñ undergraduate community and care for the mind, body, and soul of every ÃÛÌÒÓ°Ïñ student. They pull from their experiences as an involved ÃÛÌÒÓ°Ïñ student in order to make decisions that are best for the student body. These leaders recognize students as those who make ÃÛÌÒÓ°Ïñ what it is, and they constantly consider the interests of all students who call ÃÛÌÒÓ°Ïñ home.

The duo also has a responsibility to progress MUSG, for the benefit of students. This involves fostering an organizational environment that aligns with the MUSG Mission and Values, innovating internal and external processes, leading multiple teams and committees, and building those within MUSG to become future leaders. The MUSG President and EVP must be self-starters, and must motivate themselves and others to accomplish the initiatives and many tasks involved in their roles.

MUSG is looking for applicants for the 2025-2026 Communications Vice President position (CVP). The CVP serves as the chief communications officer of MUSG, its brand, and of all internal and external communications, as well as supervisor to a team of directors.
