Safety Alerts

Timely and effective notification provides the best possible opportunity to safeguard the well-being of the campus community if there is a crisis or threat to campus.

When a crime or incident is reported that poses a threat to campus, the ÃÛÌÒÓ°Ïñ Police Department, in conjunction with other university departments, issues safety alerts through text messages and emails to ÃÛÌÒÓ°Ïñ students, faculty and staff. Learn more about what prompts a safety alert and how to find more information about incidents.

Notifications

Safety alerts are available through text messages and emails to ÃÛÌÒÓ°Ïñ students, faculty and staff in compliance with the Jeanne Clery Act. Parents and guardians can opt in to safety alert text messages.

Notification information

After an initial text alert, a more detailed email alert is sent to students, faculty and staff with further direction to avoid a certain area or to watch for suspects who match the description.
